My background is as an educator, working for over 35 years in public education. I have taught in grades Kindergarten through Eighth Grade with extensive experience working in the role of Gifted Support Specialist. I am currently an Academic Coach at the Owen J. Roberts School District in Pottstown, PA.

Throughout my career, I have been the recipient of numerous awards for my work with students and teachers including being selected as Google Certified Teacher, the Pennsylvania Association for Educational Computing and Technology 2008 Outstanding Teacher, Citadel Heart of Learning Award Nominee, 2005 State Level Keystone Technology Integrator, STAR Discovery Education Educator, and Phillies All-Star Teacher. Additionally, I have won grants to benefit my students and school including  PAECT Geocaching Grant for "Choose YOur Own Adventure with GPS"; Owen J. Roberts Education Foundation Grants "Using GIS and GPS to Solve Real Problems" and "Developing 21^st Century Literacies in Learners"; Keystone Integrator Grants for NASA eMissions and Tool Factory Digital Literacy Grant; and Pennsylvania Department of Education Grant for "Developing Digital Learners with Digital Cameras".

I am committed to helping educators and students develop abilities and skills to communicate and work in a global, 21st century world.  I am eager to facilitate work with educators in their efforts to articulate a clear vision for student achievement coupled with rigorous learning experiences, supported by the development of school based leadership. I am an advocate for job embedded professional development and problem and passion based learning that encourages both educators and students to engage in active learning and collaboration using a range of Web 2.0 tools. 

Learners and learning are my driving forces. I am actively involved in providing workshops and presentations on a wide variety of topics. I have presented at conferences at the local, state, national, and international organizations including the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Conference and Expo (PETE&C), Computer Using Educators (CUE), ISTE / NECC, and Educon, Chester and Montgomery County Intermediate Units and the Schuylkill County Education Council.
